so far, my spring look is all about slick space, apocalyptic futures, the unknown universe...i want tight, short, shiny, geometric, translucent, metallic, slippery, atmospheric pastels, slink, moonscapes, mist, aliens and planet topographies. im ready to trip out.

im not a model

jen had her trunkshow at the silverman gallery a few weeks ago and spilled these photos onto facebook. martha davis provided shoes and we munched on crumbled pringles while the surprisingly impressive fashion set mingled and polished off case after case of wine. good times, even if you're the shortest model on display.

ok so i know everyone's blogging about the acne atacoma wedge, which is freaking incredible. but what about the other acne fall shoes? do they get no love?

homage to summer: asheville, north carolina

nico and i spent a night on the way to athens with alex, a good friend of dorothy's who is a potter's apprentice in the appalachians outside of asheville, north carolina. we saw spiky spiders, shot bbs at tin cans in the woods, wound through the mountains at 2am, and breakfasted on local-egg sandwiches.









alex lives in his own cabin (built by hand by the potter!) with his lovely cat, mabel, and a lot of solitary time. it sounds wonderful and it is. the mountain scenery is unbelievable and if you need to socialize, it's not too far from asheville, an artsy little college town which reminded us of a mix of portland and athens.











alex was a terrific host, giving us a tour of the studio, the kiln, the pond and his neighborhood goats. north carolina is famous for its long tradition of craft, pottery in particular, and it was great to see someone who (literally) has their hands in the modern incarnation of those traditions.

good hair day

lisa cut my hair last week into vidal sassoon's firefly. she showed me the awesome book that vidal used and still uses as a training guide: a-ma-zing! metier is right next to vidal and everyone has the best hair. my girl debi at di pietro also worked at vidal for years...crazy geometry! so innovative!!! so influential!!! check it out:
