serial cultura/crumley trunk show!

jen's having another trunk show at the silverman gallery tomorrow, just like last year! would love to see you all there! clothing by micaela greg, stars and ravens, and brian crumley will be there from austin with his rad jewelry. um zipper earrings?!? DONT MISS IT!

beards and bears

jen and i went to a party at MAC for the infamously bearded walter van beirendonck and dirk bikkembergs, two belgian designers part of the antwerp 6 (demuelemeester, dries, etc.) MAC is such a fantastic store and the event drew such a great crowd of fashionable people- somewhat out of character for san francisco, it felt much more new york. lots of gay men in radical outfits- stilettos, back braces, short shorts, and many many beards. i even had a glass of prosecco! wooooo!!! their work is so much FUN- bright colors, shapes, textures. i'll post some photos of that soon....

walter is presenting his men's collection at the berkeley art museum tonight at 7, the first time he's showing in the united states! amazing!

sharon's birthday picnic!

jen and gabe and i drove up to mt. tam to celebrate sharon's birthday with her husband bill, friends, and a picnic on saturday. it was AMAZINGLY clear and beautiful and sunny. i found an antler and jen found some rocks that looked suspiciously like a few parts of the body that shall remain nameless. menu: oat-coated fried chicken, quinoa salad, stinky cheeses, mango sticky rice and limoncello lemonades. what a fantastic day! happy birthday, sharon!

JUNKIES

i stayed at jen's place on saturday so we could get up early to sell at the fleamarket on sunday morning. we made some quick pitstops at MAC (had never been but was blown away! beautiful aesthetic--folk art quirk decor and racks of modern appealing clothing by dries, jil sander, jen!!!) and gimme shoes (loving these chie mihara yellow suede platforms, ugggghhh). the staff at both were super friendly and we chatted for a while before heading to oakland...







jen and gabe cooked me a bomb polenta + spinach dinner for my birthday, which i didn't photograph pretty much because i ate it all. then we rushed over to ici in berkeley for ice cream by the former chez panisse pastry lady. YUM oatmeal chocolate chip and cardamom fudge swirl for me, gabe had meyer lemon and earl grey, jen had the cardamom and earl grey and we all munched our hand-rolled cones down to the chocolate coating at the bottom. fuck ya. thanks guys!!!






the morning was rocky (cellphone trouble and mannequin assembly difficulties) but we made it and set up and tried to hook customers into buying our old crap. i arranged my rack in rainbow order. rob & april stopped by for a quick hello. the fleamarket was packed and we had great weather, although i ended up spending more than half the money i made but scored some shaggy pants, a sun-bleached plaid cotton tunic, and dice keychains. wasn't as profitable as last time, but we enjoyed our day in the sunshine deciding which passersby would be our next boyfriends. i love junk!!!
